The tutorial program for Spanish is designed to help others learn the language as well as to enhance the student's experience in learning the Spanish methodologically in written and colloquial form. A crash basic course (for example a vacation course) and/or a course to focus on a particular area or content; either grammatical or functional or lexical; or a course for specific purposes (for example, preparation for DELE exams or Spanish for travelers) can also be provided upon request depending on the number of students.
Since I believe that a teacher more than an instructor is a facilitator whose aim, more than imparting knowledge, is to guide and facilitate the learning process, my program is based on humanistic education which is essential for any kind of learning to succeed. Besides, I encourage the participation of my students by incorporating the cooperative learning and always try to teach a practical and simple Spanish; that is, I try to teach as little grammar as possible, focusing more in understanding and speaking the language as well as the culture of the country.
Each language class is organized and planned so as to present the variety of language skills to be learned anew, as well as those that must be reviewed, and to keep students actively involved. For me this is the daily science of teaching, and creating and maintaining this balance is something I find deeply satisfying. Since I do have very high expectations of my students, I feel it is my responsibility to inspire them to want to achieve their maximum potential.
